A report says that India's officials didn't want MI captain Hardik Pandya in their 2024 T20 World Cup team because of their feud

The ongoing drama between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya on the Mumbai Indians (MI) football team has been going on for a while now. Before the start of the 2024 Indian Premier League season, the franchise announced that Pandya would take over as MI's captain.

The fans did not welcome the move well, and the former all-rounder for the Gujarat Titans has faced immense hatred throughout the season, especially in Mumbai. According to accounts, Rohit Sharam, who had previously served as captain, was likewise taken aback by the news and was genuinely concerned about the choice.

The squad appeared divided into two factions during their most recent match at Eden Gardens against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The Indian players were loyal to the old captain, while the foreign players were devoted to the current captain.
Additionally, members of the KKR coaching staff witnessed Rohit Sharma engaging in a conversation. KKR shared a video of this conversation on their social media accounts; however, they subsequently removed it. The camera captured a conversation between Rohit and Abhishek Nayar. In the conversation, Rohit said that everything has changed and that it is possible that this may be his last season with the club.
In the end, Michigan was unable to win the game, collecting its ninth loss out of a total of thirteen games played so far this season. The Wankhede stadium will host their final Indian Premier League (IPL) match of the season on May 17 against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

The dispute could potentially have significant repercussions for the Indian team

The four players from the MI club, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah, will represent India in the 2017 ICC Twenty20 World Cup, which the United States of America and the West Indies will host in June.

The BCCI announced the squad a few weeks ago, with Pandya as the vice captain and Rohit as the team captain.
It is widely believed that some of the selectors, including Rohit Sharma, who is the captain of the team, were opposed to the decision to select Hardik Pandya for the squad. This is particularly the case because of the poor form that he has displayed in the Indian Premier League. However, the team ultimately agreed to select the all-rounder because of the pressure from outside sources and the lack of replacement options for the experience that he brings to the team.

Pandya's performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season has been dreadful, particularly with the bat. Despite his effective bowling in recent games, the all-rounder has allowed runs to score at an economy rate of more than ten throughout the cricket season.
